North Central College continues cater to the student community, with Jefferson Plaza and Seager Lounge becoming the latest improvements.

With a near-record total of more than 3,000 students attending the College, the community can experience Jefferson Plaza in a new way. Do you like the outdoors and bonfires? To replace empty acres of grass, a brand new fire pit has been built next to Seager Hall. For those who grew up in the country and enjoyed bonfires on warm summer nights, the fire pit will surely bring back those sweet memories. Fire pits on college campuses are rare, so this new addition makes North Central stand out from the competition. The concept of having college bonfires on the weekends right in the heart of campus is refreshing and exciting.

Seager Lounge has opened its doors for all students on campus by adding its own entertaining edition. To help students escape their Sam’s Club-sized textbooks, the lounge includes new ping-pong and billiards tables, giving students the leisure time they crave. Don’t want to make the trek over to Oesterle Library to print out an important essay? No worries! New computers and printers have been added to Seager, turning that 15-minute library walk into a five-second run down the stairs for Seager residents and a five-minute walk for others living near the residence hall. Can it get any better? Yes, it can. Seager Lounge also includes new televisions and comfortable couches, so students won’t miss a second of the Bears games. There are areas to work, study, entertain and relax, making it easier, especially for freshmen, to adjust to college life with ease. It’s satisfying to witness changes made for the enjoyment of the student community.
