1.  Disney had released images of their new Latina Disney princess, Elena. The new movie starring this princess, “Elena of Avalor” is set to be released in 2016 in more than 150 countries and 25 languages. (MSN)

I support all kinds of Disney princess races now that we are evolving more to inspire all young girls and their inner princesses. Instead of growing up with the typical Caucasian, skinny Disney princesses, we are now seeing a more diverse and less peer-pressured side of princess heroines. With Tatiana becoming the first African American princess in “The Princess and the Frog,” and now Elena, it will be interesting to see where Disney goes next.

2.  Eddie Murphy is scheduled to host the 40th anniversary of “Saturday Night Live” on Feb. 15 after not appearing on the show for more than 30 years. (CNN)

I can agree with Hollywood when I say that I haven’t seen him in more than 10 years since “The Haunted Mansion” in 2003. Hopefully, when he hosts next month, he’ll either bring Shrek with him or a whole group of ghosts.

3.  George Zimmerman’s charge of aggravated assault has been dropped by his ex-girlfriend after she abjured her story and became uncooperative with investigators (MSN).

He’s in jail. Let’s just leave it at that and be satisfied.

4.  Cases of Ebola continue to arise as a California patient tested positive at the University of California hospital in Sacramento (MSN)

This disease seems to be lasting longer than when the swine flu first broke out. I find it concerning that it’s happening right near a college campus.

5.  In response to Barack Obama’s attempt to negotiate a deal with Cuba in regards to trade embargos and terror listing, Raul Castro has demanded that the United States first hand back the Guantanamo Bay military base.

Sure, you want fries with that too?
