1. Who inspired you to become a fashionista?
Growing up, my mum would always take me shopping. There was never a time that she would leave me at home because she knew I wouldn’t be a fan of that. My mom taught me that the most important thing about fashion is the confidence it gives you. As a fashionista, I have always loved the idea of wearing outfits that would make me different from everyone and would also express who I am as an individual.

2. What is your favorite fashion essential?
My favorite fashion essential is my lipstick. I have a scary obsession with matte lipsticks because it brings uniqueness and it makes me feel like I’m rocking the streets of Chicago.

3. How would you describe your style in three words?
I would describe my style as fierce, vintage and unique.

4. What is one spring trend that you are excited for?
One thing that I am most excited for about spring is to stop wearing leggings and tights, or even jeans. I am excited for high-waist shorts and cropped tees.

5. How do you think you can expand fashion on campus?
One way that I can help expand fashion on campus is by being confident and just being true to myself. Fashion is all about being confident in the outfits you choose to wear and also not imitating others.

1. Who inspired you to become a fashionista? I don’t know if anyone inspired me directly. I started falling in love with fashion and found a lot of my inspiration through magazines like “Seventeen” when I was younger and now I read “Glamour” and “Vogue.” I also get a lot of style ideas through celebrities like Gigi Hadid and Zendaya.

2. What is your favorite fashion essential? Right now, it would definitely be my adidas NEO Baseline Sneakers. Gigi Hadid was really my biggest influence in purchasing those.

3. Describe your style in three words. Athletic, fresh, and black.

4. What is your favorite spring trend? ‘White shirt redux,’ as “Elle” calls it. The white shirt is a classic piece and a lot of the spring ready-to-wear fashion shows brought new life to a tired basic.

5. How will you expand fashion at NCC? I hope to build a place to report on the fashion that I see around campus and to show students easy ways to update basic outfits to something chic and polished with a small budget and little effort.
