The devious art of merging phone calls

Once upon a time, you have probably engaged in a prank call. It was a classic thing to do at a sleepover when you were 10. I, however, was never allowed to do prank calls since I would burst into laughter mid-prank.  While most everyone is familiar with the art of prank call, perhaps merging phone calls is something you may not be familiar with.

Merging phone calls is calling one number and then another number so there is a conflicting conversation happening. While I have not attempted this because I am not an evil mastermind, I watched a video to see the results of it.

The result? Confusion. A whole lot of confusion on both ends.

Honestly, if I was one of those workers, I would so not appreciate it, just as I never appreciated the prank calls I received in junior high.

An example of merging a phone call is by calling one pizza place and placing an order. Then you tell them to wait a second, and you get another pizza place onto the phone. Press mute and you’ll have the devious merging phone conversations between two pizza places. Then a whole bunch of confusion ensues. Fun!

Merging phone calls does not necessarily have to be used for evil; it can be used for good too. If you ever want to have a conference call, merging phone calls would be beneficial. See? There is more to merging phone calls than a silly little prank.

If you ever find yourself bored on a Friday night, perhaps relive your junior high days (not sure why you would want to do that, though) and engage in a merging phone call. It is the new and improved version of the classic prank calls. I am not condoning this by the way… nor am I judging you for taking part in merging phone calls. Whatever floats your boat.
