Coming off two top-three finishes in as many weeks, NCC’s Mock Trial Team now turns its attention to the future, which the group hopes includes an invitation to compete at prestigious competitions held at Yale and Cornell.

After winning third place at the Northern Illinois University Husky Tournament on Oct. 28 and 29, the team went on to take second place out of 28 competing teams at the University of Illinois Tournament the following weekend.

These wins led to the team improving their overall record to 7-1, a record which director of public relations for North Central’s Mock Trial Team, Kyla Singleton, says is unprecedented. The 14 team members are hoping to carry on with their hard work and go for the gold in February’s regionals which will be held in either Illinois or Ohio.

The “B Team” plans on visiting Lewis University for an event this weekend, while the “A Team” will be returning to the University of Illinois for a scrimmage.
