School is in the air. The smell of used books from Chegg, freshly brewed coffee, and… wait what’s that? Burgers? Chicken? That’s right. This year right outside the Boilerhouse stands a new grill station. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chartwells serves up mouth-watering grilled sandwiches for $5.
Is this new meal option a good idea or an unnecessary expense? Based on a few students, who have stopped by for a quick bite, the responses are all thumbs up.
First-year students Lauren Kanady, Mike Larrea, and Blair Dimer all said the option is “really good.” More specifically, Kanady said that “compared to high school food, it blows it out of the water.”
While students enjoy chef Dunkin Caldwells’ grilled meals, not too far away is WONC. Their thoughts on the new addition to meal options are not only based on the food, but the combination of the food and music playing in the background of students’ every day schedule.
“I think it is a good idea because students get to eat outside and enjoy the nice weather for a bit longer before it gets cold,” says senior Jason Krug. “But the food options aren’t anything different than what I could get at the Cage.”
What is drawing the students in for a meal outside the Boilerhouse?
Well, according to Krug, more advertising could be done to get a bigger crowd but the music WONC plays helps out with getting the attention of passersby.
Who could ask for more with a live radio station and the smell of a juicy burger wafting through the air while trudging along campus?
