North Central College has recently welcomed two new trustee members, Leah Rippe and former NCC president Harold Wilde.
Rippe has been named a member of the North Central College Board of Trustees and Wilde has been named a Life Trustee of the College.
Before Rippe and Wilde became trustees of the school, each one was actively involved throughout the Naperville community.
As a Naperville resident, Rippe has been playing an extremely active role in several other organizations throughout the Naperville area. She is the marketing co-chair for the Downtown Naperville Alliance, serves on the Board of Directors for the Naperville Heritage Society and serves on the board of Arranmore Arts.
On top of all that she has also been the publisher of the Naperville Magazine since 2007. Naperville Magazine is a magazine that is primarily a community lifestyle magazine for the Naperville community.
Previously she was the chair of the College’s Board of Trustee Associates since the fall of 2010. Now she is appointed to a three-year term as a College Trustee member.
Wilde, also a Naperville resident, has played an active role in the College’s community be-fore being named a Life Trustee. Wilde served as the College’s ninth president for 22 years before the role was passed onto the current president, Dr. Troy Hammond.
Wilde accomplished much during his time as the ninth president. Some of his accomplishments include 15 major construction projects and a significant campus expansion, 100 percent growth in full-time undergraduate enrollments, and the upgrade of the campus computer system to include wireless connections across the entire campus.
Both Rippe and Wilde are trustee members, but each committee that they are a part of play a different role for the College.
As a member of the Board of Trustees, Rippe and the other members of the board govern the College and make various decisions that after students, staff, and other members of the campus community.
The Life Trustee of the College, which Wilde is a member of, consists of many life and honorary who have retired from active board status. It consists of College alumni as well as other retired members who played an active role for the College. These Life Trustees members provide ongoing counsel to current members and to the campus community.
Rippe and Wilde have both been playing a role both on campus and in the Naperville community. They will continue to play a role as their new positions as trustee members.
