Part of being a ‘90s kid is swearing that everything in our generation is better than the previous one, and of course better than the next generation too. Arguably, we had some of the best toys, games, clothes, and entertainment. With that being said, next time you’re in the mood to watch a movie, skip the Red Box or your local theater and be sure to rent one of these “sweet” ‘90s movies.
- There’s Something about Mary (1998): For one of the main characters, Ted (Ben Stiller) there really is something about Mary. In high school, after finally working up the courage to ask Mary (Cameron Diaz) to prom, nerdy Ted faces a rather embarrassing incident that prevents him from attending the dance with his dream date. The movie revisits the event and then picks up with Ted’s search to find Mary several years later.
- Dumb and Dumber (1994): This adventure movie is unlike any adventure movie you have seen before. The film tells the details of the cross-country journey of two not so intelligent, but very sweet best friends (Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels).
- Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994): British bachelor, Charles (Hugh Grant) is invited to four weddings and a funeral. Surprised? During the duration of these events suave Charles must come to terms with the fact that he found love. The woman he falls madly in love with (Andie MacDowell) happens to be in attendance of all the events and happens to be an American.
- Clueless (1995): At first glance, the main character Cher (Alicia Silverstone) appears to be your typical Beverly Hills high school student. She is popular and a tad superficial, yet as the plot continues the audience sees a different side of Cher. When she decides to make over and boost a fellow peer’s popularity, the audience sees a side of her that is both sympathetic and charming.
- She’s All That (1999): The popular high school jock and heart throb, Zack (Freddie Prinze Jr.) makes a bet with his fellow teammates that he can turn one of the most nerdy and unattractive females into a heart throb herself. Along the course of this transformation, Zack falls for the subject of his makeover, Laney (Rachael Leigh Cook).
