The year 2014 has ended, along with missed opportunities, failed resolutions and all the other negative aspects of the past.

However, 2015 is here to cast aside the failures of 2014. It is the year to embrace all opportunities to better yourself and your college career and finally keep track of your New Year’s resolutions.

Students all over campus are already starting out the year with a positive attitude. Many are looking forward to new job opportunities, new friendships and relationships, or adventures coming their way to make the best out of the new year.

“At the end of January I have my first grad school interview,” said senior Maggie Fraser. “And depending on which school I get into, I might be able to go back to the UK this summer, so fingers crossed.”

Like Fraser, many students are using 2015 to focus on school-related resolutions.

“I plan to be more focused on schoolwork,” said transfer student Ryan Scumaci. “I take North Central more seriously than community college.”

While some students are already taking advantage of the College’s benefits, others are using 2015 to figure out what life has in store for them after graduation.

“The reason why I came to NCC was that I didn’t have to decide my major until later,” said senior Yoko Imaishi. “In Japan, you have to know your major before we enter a college. But now that I’m about to graduate, it’s time to find out.”

Despite the seriousness most students are approaching the new year with, others have a slightly quirkier attitude about the year.

“Well, one resolution would be to not freeze to death during this 2015 ‘snow-pocalypse,’” said freshman Kay Glover.
