1. It’s possible that President Andrew Jackson may no longer be on the $20 bill. A recent voting, presented by Women on 20s, resulted in more than 600,000 people wanting abolitionist Harriet Tubman as the new face for American currency. A petition has been created to send to President Obama and if passed, Tubman will be the first female and first African American to be part of the American dollar family. (CNN)

Americans spend money faster than sound waves. Consideration to change the faces on the currency does not fathom into their minds. But this is a step toward strength in feminism and race diversity, so let the face be as much worth and the money we spend every day.

2. A nursing student at Misericordia University is suing the college after failing her nursing exam twice. The student claims that she suffers with anxiety, depression and poor concentration and that the university was not reasonable about her specific testing environment. (Washington Post)

Nursing majors are already on the edge from the endless studying that they’ve put eight years into. Comfortable testing environments make be the one thing out of all their work that could ease the stress of passing the test. No one should be punished for wanting to pursue a career that focuses on helping others.

3. On Wednesday, May 13, the House of Representatives passed a bill that bans the abortion of an unborn fetus after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The new bill also provided consent forms and mandatory counseling for victims of rape and sexual assault. (New York Times)

While arguments are still being made for this bill to be revoked, let’s not forget that one of the many unborn children in the United States could be the solution for a cure to cancer or the answer to the reason behind the Kennedy assassination. Yes, abortion may seem right to some men and women and wrong to others. But shouldn’t there future be considered before the parents? Perhaps the political system is moving in the right path with giving new generations a chance. However, abortion can be an option for those mothers who have health issues while pregnant or may not survive birth. So, could this bill possibly be revoked? What is known for sure is that the bill far from being 100% satisfied with the Unites States satisfaction.

4. A federal survey revealed that more than 40 percent of honeybee hives have died within the past year. This is the second-highest loss in bee colonies in nine years and the blame is being put on agro-ecosystems, mites, poor nutrition within the hives and pesticides. (MSN)

If Winnie the Pooh were here, he would speak for all of us by saying, “Oh bother.”

5. Rumors of Patrick “McDreamy” Dempsey’s sudden exit from long-time run drama “Grey’s Anatomy have put him in hot water. Accusations are being made that Dempsey had an affair with a co-worker on set, which led to his divorce from his wife of 15 years, Jillian Frink, and the torn friendship between him and co-star Ellen Pompeo. (The Inquisitr)

He seems to be more of a “McCheaty” than “McDreamy.”
