You could absolutely call me a jock, both in high school and in college, probably even back to my toddler days if you’d so like. I had probably tried almost 10 sports by the time I was 6 and needless to say, my love for competition only grew.
For me, everything is a game or at least a competition and that’s probably due to my involvement in sports from a young age. I am the worst person to play a pick up game with or have on an intramural team because I get so competitive. It’s a blessing and a curse.
With my competitive drive, the only option for me when it came to college sports was to play. I was played women’s lacrosse at Alma College for the first part of my freshman year until a torn labrum in my left hip and a hip arthroscopy sidelined me from my sport. I transferred to North Central in 2014 and have been able to (finally) play my freshman season as well as travel to the United Kingdom this past summer to represent the United States.
With almost 16 years of athletic experience, both on and off the field, I know a lot about sports. I have played in big games; I’ve had season ending injuries; I have played internationally; I have gone through the NCAA eligibility process; I have worked in Sports Information at both North Central and at the Division I level; I have coached the game I love.
Add in my love for sports in general as well as my nerdy love for writing and you get this blog.
Needless to say, I have a lot to share and a lot to talk about.
So whether you are a student, past or current, a Cardinal or a Cardinal at heart, or just want to know what’s happening in the wonderful wide world of sports, then you’ve come to the right place.
