Today, Feb. 8, 2017, the Cardinals hit the road to Rock Island, IL where they will face off against CCIW rivals, Augustana College. This is the two team’s second encounter of the season.
The first matchup was Jan. 4, where the Cardinals hosted Augustana and were defeated 71-82. Some key players from the teams’ first meeting were Augie sophomore guard #14 Nolan Ebel, who had 16 points and four assists, while leading scorer for the Cardinals was junior guard #34 Erwin Henry with 13 points.
Nationally ranked #20, Augustana is playing to defend home court and maintain their number one spot in the CCIW. North Central is playing to avenge their home court loss and safely retain a spot in the conference tournament.
The Cardinal men are on a hot, four-game win streak and just recently took down the previous #20 nationally ranked team, North Park on the road as well.
