Coachella Music and Arts Festival kicked off the summer and the festival season the weekend of April 14 with their first weekend of the annual music festival in Coachella Valley. Artists such as Bon Iver, Father John Misty, Lorde, Lady Gaga and many more performed on the stage for weekend two starting April 21. Coachella only opened the festival season, and there are still many more concerts and festivals to attend this summer.
The Rolling Loud Festival is being held May 5 through May 7 in Miami. Completely a hip-hop concentrated festival, it stars artist such as Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, A$AP Rocky and many more of your favorite hip-hop artists. No camping is allowed at the three-day festival and tickets will cost about $250.
In Manchester, Tenn., the annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival begins June 8 and ends June 11. Headline artists include Chance the Rapper, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Weeknd. A four-day pass for this festival comes to $350 and a one-day pass sells for only $210.
Henry Maier Festival Park will be the location of the Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wis. Concert dates are from June 28 to July 2 and July 4 to July 9. The music genres cover artists like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pink, Future and Luke Bryan. You can grab a pass for all 11 days of the festival for only $80, or general admission costs $20 for a single day.
This year, Chicago’s once-a-year festival will go from Aug. 3 to Aug. 6. Lollapalooza, held in Grant Park, is hosting its 20th annual event. There are genres of music for everyone including alternative rock, punk rock, heavy metal, pop music, hip-hop music and electronic dance. Some headliners are The Killers, Blink-182 and Chicago’s very own Chance the Rapper. Tickets are, unsurprisingly, sold out, but you can still pick up your own four-day pass through verified resale on the Lollapalooza site.
Aside from festivals, many tour dates released recently show what will be happening this upcoming summer. On June 2, Future will be at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in Tinley Park, Ill., for his “Nobody Safe Tour.” Artists performing with him will be Migos, Kodak Black, Tory Lanez and more. The tickets for this concert are perfect for a college student. Prices range from $31 to just under $200.
J. Cole will be touring around the country in support of his last album “4 Your Eyez Only.” The “4 Your Eyez Only Tour” stops in Chicago at the United Center on July 24. Prices range from as low as $49 to over $500.
