Presented by the Naperville Art League Fine Art Center & Gallery, Naperville’s 32nd annual Riverwalk Fine Art Fair took place Sept. 16-17. It featured roughly 135 artists from the local area, the nation and beyond. The projected attendance was 74,000 people, according to the artist application.
While more traditional art forms such as painting and photography were certainly present at the event, there were also self-balancing guitar stands, handwoven cloth goods and large metal-and-glass sculptures for both viewing and sale.
Deborah Venezia, executive director of the 2017 Riverwalk Fine Art Fair, writes in this year’s welcome letter that, thanks to all of the event’s sponsors coming together to put on the event, “the collective commitment to this event ensures a successful celebration of the arts that enriches the lives of many.”
Numerous awards, such as Best of Show, 10 awards of excellence and up to five merit ribbons were presented to artists in attendance at the fair. The names of the winners had not yet been posted on the Naperville Art League’s website at time of publication.
