Recap:
The North Central College women’s volleyball team finished their season with a 12-7 record. In conference, they were 3-5. “Our team has learned a lot about each other during the preseason and different student athletes have been stepping up at different moments throughout our season,” said head coach Kyle Exline.
The small group of seniors on the roster led by example for the underclassmen. “They all have stepped up in different ways to help the team,” said Exline.
“Each has made sacrifices in their social lives and has truly put the team goals first over their individual goals. They have helped to guide the underclassmen to a successful future,” Exline said.
The team took their focus for success outside the court in order to help them fulfill a successful season. Exline added, “They have been focused with watching film, taking detailed notes and presenting the scouting reports to each other. They have grown exponentially since the start of the season with their ability to identify our opponent’s weakness and exploit it.”
Looking ahead:
With a younger team, there is plenty of potential to develop on the team. Even though they fell short in conference this year, Exline has a positive outlook for the future. “The coaching staff is extremely proud of the way our student athletes have competed all season and we are looking forward to a championship level future.”
