In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, North Central is hosting MLK Week. North Central celebrates the life of MLK to commemorate his efforts, dating back to 1960 when The Rev. King, himself, visited North Central.

Notable events include the annual prayer breakfast on Monday with speaker David Johnson ’07. Johnson earned his degree from North Central in religious studies and is now an international photographer. His work has appeared in Times Square, Fitness Magazine, Michigan Avenue Magazine and other national and international publications. The event takes place in Wentz Science Center’s Ratio Hall from 7 to 8 a.m.

Documentarian and activist The Rev. Steven Martin is also bringing his unique perspective to campus for another addition of the Lux Veritas Speaker Series. This event will take place at Wentz Science Center, Room 101 at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, Jan. 17, Mosaic is presenting “One Year Later: A Panel Discussion.” Students and faculty from a variety of political beliefs and backgrounds will share their thoughts and observations regarding President Donald Trump’s first year in office. Discussions begin at 7 p.m. in Old Main’s Smith Hall.

On Friday, award-winning journalist and author Marc Lamont Hill will be giving a keynote address at Wentz Concert Hall at 7 p.m. Hill is a host of BET News and VH1 Live, and is a contributor for CNN.
