Empire Burgers & Brew is gearing up for the nicer weather that (hopefully) lies ahead and on Saturday, April 21, will be tapping a host of Snickers bar-inspired stouts from one of Lemont’s premier craft breweries, Pollyanna Brewing Company, alongside their annual nice weather beer, Summerly.
The original Fun Size, a milk stout brewed with peanuts, vanilla beans, cocoa nibs and sea salt, aims to mimic the flavor of one of the world’s more well-known candy bars. With the tagline ‘You’re not you when you’re thirsty, so satisfy your craving with this fun size treat!’ so closely mirroring some oh-so-funny commercials for the Mars, Inc.-produced candy bar, Pollyanna’s lawsuit-avoiding intent is quite clear — and respectable.
Empire will be tapping the regular ol’ Fun Size along with its maple, toasted coconut, barrel-aged and coffee variants as well as Pollyanna’s lighter, wheat-based Summerly, brewed with hundreds of pounds of fresh raspberries and clocking in at an easy-drinking 4.8% ABV.
While locals may not be feeling too “Summerly,” or even spring-ly, hopefully Empire is able to bring some nicer weather to the area along with these very nice beers.
