Halfway through the term, SGA still has a lot planned for the rest of the term. Springfest, Student Leadership Awards and Arbor Day were some of the topics discussed at the week 5 meeting. Check out the full agenda below:

  • Springfest will be held on Saturday, May 12 from 1-4 p.m. at Jefferson Plaza. All student organizations will have their own booth for students to play “Survivor”-themed games. There will be a dunk tank, photo booth, food and more.
  • Active shooter training will be held May 10.
  • Kevin McCarthy, assistant vice president for student affairs and dean of students, will take Jeremy Gudauskas’s place as SGA advisor next year.
  • SGA is looking to get refillable drink stations at the Cage to save on time and plastic bottles.
  • Student leadership awards are next Wednesday, May 2. Students must RSVP by Friday, April 27. SGA will be in the running for Student Organization of the Year.
  • SGA will be volunteering at the Special Olympics off campus this Sunday.
  • “Hoops for Haiti” will be May 20 in Merner Fieldhouse from 1-2 p.m. Proceeds go to de-worming children in Haiti. You raise a certain number of cents per shot made. One cent equals one medication per child.
  • Arbor day is today, and Green Scene is hosting a scavenger hunt online where students can be entered into a raffle to win a prize. They will also have a tree planting ceremony in front of Old Main with snacks and games.
  • The Sunday before Memorial Day, Green Scene is taking a trip to the Morton Arboretum. The cost is $3 per-person.
  • There is a Shimer Open House next Monday, April 30 at 4 p.m. in Seybert. There will be free food.
  • There will be no SGA meeting next week.

All students are free to attend and offer their own ideas at the SGA meetings every Thursday at 12 p.m. in the basement of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship.
