President Connor McGury, ’18, presided over the final meeting, and because it was the end of the year there wasn’t quite as many pressing concerns to discuss. However, they did have a guest, Josh Davis, who is in charge of dining services and gave a brief Q and A. Here’s a look at what was on the table this week:
- Next year’s potential agenda:
- How to get more students involved with the student government, some positions are still open that need to be filled.
- More bike racks and potentially more lanes to be discussed further.
- Josh Davis of Dining Services discussed a multitude of things:
- It is not realistic to open Kaufman any earlier; the numbers they have of early morning customers at other campus food places don’t back it up as a reasonable venture.
- Better organization and sanitation a priority:
- Noted the new dressing bottles as an improvement on that front.
- The “made-to-order” station has been moved to where the pizza station was, improved the deli by adding a panini press.
- Also discussed was how the layout of Au Bon Pain did not take into account how customers actually visit it, resulting in the congestion.
- Davis also notes that the Boho’s convenience store should be moved elsewhere on campus; doesn’t think the location is conducive for students.
- Another big point was that he wants to streamline the hiring process for students.
- He also noted that students should check out the Dine On Campus app, which shows the menu for the day.
- Davis has an open-door policy, so if anyone wants to ask him something, don’t hesitate.
