NCC hosted Feed the Need for the fifth time in Res/Rec on Feb. 16-17. The event allowed students and community members to volunteer two hours in order to pack food for those in need. Overall, the goal was to have 6,000 volunteers and pack enough for 1.3 million meals in two days.
Feed My Starving Children is a Christian non-profit that works to feed malnourished children. By packing vitamin powder, rice and soy, NCC helped create pouches that can contain up to six meals worth of nutrition.
The event was hosted by the Office of Faith and Action and according to Brian Rainville, the director of the office, it was a nice collaboration between different parts of campus like student affairs, maintenance and athletics.
There were three different packing sections going on throughout the day and walk-ins were welcome also.
