2020 has been a year that will live on in infamy. For every step forward, it seemed as if the nation as a whole took three steps backward. COVID has created a gap in many people’s lives that will not be easily filled. With everything from a lost college experience and poor virtual schooling to missing friends and cultural discrepancies, I wanted to express the good and the bad that COVID has brought. So much of this year has happened alone. It happened surrounded only by the closest family and friends, laptops with Zoom and Houseparty and a trusty bidet.
Friends virtually gather to share their own experiences about trying to virtually date or what they are looking forward to once COVID is over. This video explores what is hopefully an expiring pandemic, and looks forward to the times when meeting for dinner or going shopping together is no longer a safety concern. “Once COVID is over” has become a mocked phrase for its seeming impossibility. However, many yearn for the day when it is true.
