The School of Education job fair occurred on March 11 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and was an event focused around creating connections for students with local school districts. During the event, representatives from 15 school districts were present to interview and inform students.
The Department of Education organized the event. Its mission is to prepare students majoring in education for careers in teaching. In addition, they emphasize a healthy culture around education, helping students become strong leaders and professionals.

“Hopefully get some internship or feel more prepared as I start to prepare for other jobs,” said education major, Justin Moore, ‘22.
The event was located in the Gregory Arena of the Merner Field House. Tables surrounded the space, allowing students to move between the visiting school districts. Altogether, the schools present included many different levels of education from elementary and secondary to K-12 education, in a variety of fields.
The main goal of the event was to secure internships, future job opportunities and meet people in the field. However, the practice of interviewing was also a valuable experience. A large number of students attended, which include NCC students who are teacher candidates, numbering 49 on campus.
“Being an education major is a lot of work. You don’t realize how rewarding it is until you do it,” said Moore.
