Start to unwrap the Holiday magic with Schedryk-Carol of The Bells, a collaborative projection show between Art on TheMart and PHOTINUS Studio. From Nov. 10-17, 2022 Art on TheMart will be showing “Shchedryk–Carol of The Bells: Unwrap the Holiday Magic.”

Although this collaboration started before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the world has started to see global impact of Ukraine. Chicago, is home to the second largest Ukrainian population in the United States. Therefore that Chicago’s Art on TheMart would be the perfect place for this projection.
About Shchedryk–Carol of The Bells: Unwrap the Holiday Magic
Within the 10 minute projection, the history of this now famous Christmas carol comes to life and unwraps its own history. In Short the origins of “Shchedryk” dates back to a pre-Christian Ukraine, as it started out as a simple folk song. Perfected by Mykola Leontovych, in 1916. Then Leontovych would tour the world with this song after its completion. Later allowing for American Composer Peter Wilhousky.

This show is free and open to the public from Nov. 10 to the 17 at 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Merchandise Mart located at 222 W. Merchandise Mart Plaza, Chicago, ILL. Art on theMart also streamed on their Facebook page for viewers who could not make it to the showings.
