The Center for Global Education will be hosting its 21st international festival, “Around the Corner, Around the World” on Sunday, Feb. 26. The event takes place at Merner Field House, 450 S. Brainard St., from 12 to 4 p.m.

The program includes special performances and traditional dances from Ireland, Poland, Spain and many other countries, educational booths as well as language-immersion rooms for Arabic, German, Japanese and Spanish to give students and families the opportunity to learn about a different language.

John Shindler, professor of English and director of the Center for Global Education, encourages all students to come to this event.

“It’s a chance — all on a Sunday afternoon — to travel the world without leaving campus, to witness and appreciate the cultural diversity in the Naperville area, to enjoy continuous folk dancing from around the world, to be immersed for 30 minutes in another language, to enjoy international snacks — in short, to expand the global dimensions of their lives,” said Shindler.

Tickets are $6 per person at the door and $5 if purchased in advance at the Abe House, 48 E. Jefferson Ave.
