Marking 50 years, the class of 1966 comes home this weekend to celebrate. Taking a trip back to 1966 would mean that “Star Trek” just debuted on television and surfer fashion was all the rage thanks to the Beach Boys. This weekend is filled with events not just for students, but to commemorate the class of 1966. And to start your trip down memory lane see below for Chronicle covers from 1966. (* Full schedule of events.)

Friday, Oct 28

The start of the homecoming weekend celebration begins with the Welcome Home Reception at 6 p.m. for the 50-year Club in Madden Theater. Following will be the alumni swim meet and the women’s volleyball game.

The Cardinals will be facing Wheaton College, and both the swim meet and volleyball game will start at 7 p.m. in Merner Field House. Finally, the drama “Mosque Alert” will be performed in Meiley-Swallow Hall at 7:30 p.m.

Gather in Championship Plaza at 12:45 p.m. to enjoy the homecoming parade and get into the school spirit. The football game against Carroll University will start at 2 p.m., so go out, tailgate and cheer on your Cardinals.
