New Science Center

For the entirety of this school year, construction has been moving along on North Central’s $60 million state-of-the-art science center. The 125,000-square-foot building will house 18 teaching labs, 16 research labs, 15 classrooms, a lecture hall, 53 offices, and even a greenhouse.

Trophy Gallery

In commemoration of Head Men’s Cross Country Coach Al Carius’s 50th year at North Central, a new trophy case was unveiled in the lobby of the Residential Hall/Recreational Center. On display are 58 national track and field and cross country trophies, including 26 first-place trophies.

University System

In one of the most significant changes to North Central in its history, the Board of Trustees approved changes to the academic affairs structure. Currently, there are four divisions at North Central, which will be divided into the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and Entrepreneurship, and the School of Education and Health Sciences. North Central’s Graduate and Continuing Studies office will also get a new look as the School of Graduate and Professional Studies.

Seybert Remodeling

Seybert Hall, the dormitory on the north end of campus that has served as the honors dorm for the past two academic years will be updated next year to better suit the need of students. In the meantime, Ward Hall will stand in as the honors dorm.

Tuition Increase

In the Middle of April, President Troy Hammond announced North Central College had approved a tuition increase of 3.5 percent. This increase represents one of the smallest rises in decades, and similar to last year’s increase. The 2016-2017 total cost will be $47,010. Also increasing is the total financial aid award, which will grow to $43 million, a $2 million increase.
