As NCC transitions to remote instruction for the duration of the semester, Dyson Wellness Center will be offering services via a telehealth system.

Students, staff and faculty may be experiencing lots of emotions right now due to the sudden changes occurring. Dyson is still here to help in any way they can.

Telehealth Model

Dyson will now be available to the campus community via telephone during their regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). All medical staff members will provide consultations and appointments over the phone.

Eligible employees and students may continue to utilize services as necessary. Anyone who is seeking services and needs a referral can call Dyson at 630-637-5550.

COVID-19

If you are experiencing flu-like or respiratory illness symptoms such as cough, fever or shortness of breath, Dyson recommends calling your doctor or their number listed above. The CDC advises calling your doctor first to receive further help and to reduce transmission of the virus.

Words of wisdom from Dyson
  • Keep things in perspective. Take a deep breath and stay focused on what the current facts are rather than worst-case-scenarios. It can be helpful to shift your focus to things within your control rather than things outside your control.
  • Acknowledge reactions. Allow yourself time to reflect on what you are feeling and how you may be reacting to any fears and uncertainties.
  • Read about the positive news happening in the world. Good things continue to occur all around us, and it is important to remind ourselves of this

The staff at the DWC encourage you to take good care of yourself, use self-compassion and to stay safe and healthy.
