Wine tasting event hosted for NCC seniors

The 2023 Class Committee commenced with their first event this semester: a senior wine-tasting dinner on Jan. 26 for the upcoming graduating class

To join this event, students had to register for $25. $10 from each registration fee went towards the 2023 class gift.

Dinner

The dinner ran from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Stevenson Hall. Once students and faculty members came together, they got to dine and taste wines. Additionally, it was an opportunity for them to converse all evening. The event had a four-course meal and a wine sampling between each course. The course consisted of lemon chicken, pasta and a light salad. At each table, students had the option to enjoy bread as well. Students were seated at tables with wine glasses that had the NCC logo on them. Students could drink water or sample different flavors of wine. Along with each sampling was a description of the wine, with the location of the production.

“I made new friends and tasted some really good wine. It was wonderful being in the company of Dr. Kelley made the night ten times better. I am grateful to enjoy nights like these and I am excited about graduation,” said Mina Sorial, ’23.

Photo opportunity

A photo wall with props allowed guests to take pictures in front of it. Students could take photos on their phones or the polaroid cameras provided. Afterward, many of these pictures were posted on social media to share the experience with friends and family.

Carly Nasman, ’23, is a part of the Class of 2023 Committee that put the dinner together.

“I’m so happy with how it turned out. I loved how we got to invite professors so we could hang out with them in a more casual setting,” said Nasman.

In addition, NCC merch was available at the event. Class of ‘23 shirts were on sale for purchase. Students received an NCC alumni wine glass to keep.
