NCC student, Cade McHenry, goes viral on TikTok and gets national recognition. Cade McHenry lost in fantasy football and, as punishment, posted dancing videos on TikTok. McHenry participates in fantasy football with a group of his friends every year. Each year whoever loses is given a consequence.

When he lost this year, his punishment was posting a dance video on TikTok and getting at least 10,000 likes on one post. Only after four videos and three days later did he get more likes than expected.

His friends decided to extend this and made his post once a day for 30 days instead. After a couple of days, his videos go viral, with one video surpassing over 3 million views. Brands started reaching out to McHenry, sending him free clothes, merch and more.

“It feels crazy. It still doesn’t even feel real,” said McHenry.

On day 15, a producer from Good Morning America reached out to him. They asked him if he wanted to be on the show. McHenry accepted and was flown out with his mom to New York City, where he did the last dance on national television. He was gifted a year’s supply of Gatorade and a VIP experience for him and his friends to attend a Chicago Bears training camp.

“Yeah, I was definitely a little bit star-struck. It was pretty cool to meet Robin Roberts who is someone I’ve been watching since I was younger,” said McHenry.

Since then, many companies have contacted McHenry, including ABC7, the Daily Herald, ESPN and more.
