New York Times best-selling YA author and NEA award-winning poet, Brittany Cavallaro, is coming to North Central College.
Born in Springfield Ill., Cavallaro studied creative writing at Interlochen Arts Academy. Following that, she earned her BA from Middlebury College, and then her MFA from the University of Wisconsin. In 2015, her first poetry work, “Girl-King,” was published. Since then, she has written several individual poems and a chapter book titled “No Girls No Telephones.”
Along with writing, Cavallaro also got the chance to teach undergraduates at the University of Wisconsin and high school students through Northwestern University’s CTD program.
Cavallaro will be giving a talk on writing and YA literature. She will also be reading from some of her fiction and poetry works. This will be followed by a reception and book signing. Books will be for sale.
This event will take place Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. in Koten Chapel inside Kiekhofer Hall.
