After months of discussion and deliberation, President Troy Hammond announced today that the new science center will be built between Brainard and Loomis streets along Van Buren Avenue.

With Kroehler in its 43rd year of use, the push to bring a new science center to campus began at the end of former President Hal Wilde’s term and has continued into new President Hammond’s tenure.

According to officials, the center will be the largest effort in the 153-year history of the college and will be the first major construction project since the completion of the Res Rec Center.

The college plans to finish the new science center in time for the 2017 school year.
