NFL wives and luxury

A positive perspective in the media is changing the live of the wives, girlfriends and spouses of current NFL football players despite recent controversies based on domestic violence. The women of professional football players are becoming more aware that they are public figures both on and off the field. Just look at the benefits for newly-wed Janay Rice.

Engagements rings have no limit on quality, literally. Buffalo Bills Defensive End Mario Williams proposed to his wife with a $785,000 engagement ring along with several others who spare part of their several-million-dollar contract to pay for a rock. One wouldn’t expect disappointment in this area.

Additionally, the average NFL player height is a solid and intimidating 6 ft. 1in. of sheer muscle that could be the best kind of home security for his significant other. There is very little chance that their nice home will be robbed unless the robber drank a six-pack before deciding to challenge a professional athlete.

For their own personal lime light, being an NFL wife opens up possibilities through reality TV shows. Similar success stories include shows like “Basketball Wives” and “Hockey Wives,” the latter of which will be airing in Canada in February 2015.

Did I mention the nice houses that the wives will have access to? Elvis Dumervil, a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, owns a house worth more than $2 million that includes a movie theater and multiple game rooms.

Short term cash flow is another positive. For the length of a wife’s husband’s career she will not have to worry about having enough cash in her pockets. The average NFL Salary is almost $2 million a year as of last year, according to USA Today. No more buying faux designer purses when they’re able to have the real thing.

Perhaps one of the largest perks of being the wife to an NFL player is traveling in stylish rides. Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald owns a Mercedes Benz SL550. San Francisco 49er’s linebacker Patrick Willis earned himself an Aston Martin DB9 Coupe and a BMW 745Li. Ray Rice who owns three cars including a Range Rover.

Chances are that you won’t have to worry about going to boring Thanksgiving dinners as having an obligation to attend your husband’s many football games makes it easy to opt out of family functions.
