Burgundy is the new black

Finding an outfit is not an easy task, especially when you are unsure of the trends for the upcoming season.

If you are living in a state where colder weather brings subzero temperatures, fall is the perfect time to dress up and be as creative as you can. Temperatures in Illinois are changing day-to-day, and one thing to keep in mind when it comes to picking an outfit is to pick simple pieces, but style them creatively. After all, fall only comes once a year; you might as well make the most out of it.

If you are still shopping for summer apparel, it is time you switch gears and begin your fall shopping. When shopping for fall clothes, here is the rundown of what you should have on your checklist: scarves, knit sweaters and a pair of Dr. Marten boots.

Your list shouldn’t just end there. It should consist of clothes that you actually see yourself rocking during the upcoming season. It is all about being able to figure out what kind of look you want.

Ambrielle Barker, a junior at North Central College, has styled a look with the staple pieces listed in the shopping checklist earlier in a way that fits her personality.

Barker says, “Burgundy is always my go-to color whenever I dress up for fall. It’s beautiful and it basically matches with anything.”

The colors she chose for her outfit bring out what fall is all about. Her outfit consisted of a black skirt with black tights, a burgundy knit sweater paired with a thick, light-brown infinity scarf and Dr. Marten boots in a burgundy color.

Barker continued, saying, “this set of outfit is actually my favorite go-to fall style.”

Barker’s style brings out her outgoing, fun and sophisticated personality.

So, what is your new black?
