The Golden Globes marks the start of award season, and with award season comes a lot of celebrities wearing dresses. So let’s go over some of the best dressed, in no particular order, from Jan. 8 red carpet.

Emma Stone in Valentino Haute Couture: Stone, and the award-winning film “La La Land,” was a star in a custom made Valentino gown. The pale pink shade complements her skin tone and the metallic stars add some sparkle without being childish.

Ruth Negga in Louis Vuitton: Another shining star last evening, Negga looks chicly futuristic in this Louis Vuitton creation. Her silvery smoky eye pairs perfectly with her dress, and all she needs is a simple arm cuff to complete her look.

Millie Bobbie Brown in Jenny Packham: I recently started watching “Stranger Things,” and I’m now obsessed with Brown. Her Jenny Packham dress and matching Sophia Webster shoes make her shine while her makeup remains youthful and fun. Expect to see strawberry-hued lipsticks popping up on upcoming red carpets.

Mandy Moore in Naeem Khan: Moore takes home best dressed in my book with with Naeem Khan creation. The deep V-neck and the chiffon cape make this dress sexy but sophisticated. I love that she didn’t add a necklace and instead chose a pair of drop earrings to accessorize this simple but stunning look

Evan Rachel Wood in Altuzarra: Now we can’t go without discussing Wood’s amazing custom Altuzarra suit. The pussy bow blouse, oversize blazer and satin side stripe pants make for a chic red carpet look. She stood out from the crowd in a good way, and I hope more women take to this trend.

Olivia Culpo in Naeem KhanThe former Miss Universe was stunning in this floral gown on the red carpet. Her overwhelming dress is nicely complemented by her braided updo and dramatic smoky eye. If I were walking a red carpet, I’d take Culpo’s dress in a heartbeat.

Emily Ratajkowski in Reem Acra: My personal favorite from the Golden Globes’ red carpet, Ratajkowski shone in this golden Reem Acra design. With her wavy bob and simple drop earrings, she was easily one of the most stunning stars that night. I can’t wait to see what else she rocks on the red carpet this year.

Meryl Streep in Givenchy Couture: All hail Meryl, the queen of subtly calling people out. Another Golden Globes winner, Streep looked amazing in Givenchy. The devil may wear Prada, but queens wear Givenchy.

Lily Collins in Zuhair Murad: Collins looks like a real life princess in this cotton candy confection from Zuhair Murad. Her bold red lip complements her dress rather then clashes with it, and her simple accessories allow all the focus to be on her amazing gown. BRB, have to search for tutorials on how to do this updo.
