‘I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change’ led by theater seniors

“I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” written by Joe DePietro, is this year’s senior musical at North Central College. It is directed solely by North Central seniors.

This musical comedy revolves around modern relationships and the twists and turns that come with them. You will be taken on the journey of love, dating and marriage. Breaking from the norm of musicals, which normally focus on heterosexual relationships, this production also includes LGBT+ couples. The students are making this change in hopes of showing their audience that LGBT+ couples are no different than heterosexual couples.

“Directing has definitely been an eye-opening experience after primarily being an actor throughout college. It’s helped me grow as an artist by forcing me to think through and justify every choice, but our cast is incredible, so they’ve made it a really fun experience,” says Jordan DePhillips ’18, a first-time student director.
