North Central All-American cross country runner Jared Borowsky, 20, was arrested by Naperville Police on Feb. 26 in connection with a package containing 3.3 pounds of cannabis, “with an estimated street value of $15,000,” according to The Naperville Sun.

The report states that the package was delivered to the 400 block of South Brainard Street, an address the College confirms is associated with the North Central College mailroom.

Borowsky was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, a Class 2 felony, and possession of cannabis, a Class 3 felony.

Borowsky’s bail was set at $2,500, and he was released Feb. 27 from the DuPage County Jail.

This past year with the North Central College cross country team, Borowsky placed first at the CCIW Championship and was runner-up at the Division III National Championship.

Borowsky, from Buffalo Grove, Ill., is still enrolled at NCC and the College will conduct its own investigation into potential disciplinary action based on the student handbook.
