New in the ‘Ville: Kilwins Naperville

Downtown Naperville welcomes the addition of Kilwins, a chocolate and ice cream store. As of March 25, Kilwins opened its doors to all chocolate-loving locals just in time for Easter.

Franchise owner Rachel Rasmussen is excited to share Kilwins’ sweets with Napervillians.

Apart from the welcome smell of tasty treats, Kilwins in Naperville strives to deliver high energy service and delicious food. According to store owner Rachel Rasmussen “the environment makes us unique. We are constantly cooking in the windows and giving out free samples.” Rasmussen has been working for the Petoskey, Michigan-based company for many years and was excited to introduce the new location in downtown Naperville.

Unlike companies such as Ghiradelli and See’s that make “chocolates, not chocolate,” Kilwins chief of design and branding, Ron Brunette, says that Kilwins is involved with the chocolate process from cacao bean to candy bar.

The Kilwins franchise opened 71 years ago, and strives to stick to their motto: “Sweet in every sense since 1947.” Rasmussen has worked at multiple locations throughout her career with Kilwins and insists that it’s an awesome place to be. “I love Kilwins so much and I think (Naperville) is the perfect place to open a shop.”
