SGA discusses potential monument, student ID perks

0

The Week 7 SGA meeting covered a few topics in great detail, including a school monument. The full agenda is listed below.

  • There was a discussion of a potential monument or sign, but nothing final yet.
  • The Student Advancement Fund is not an ideal option for funding a monument, so SGA will be looking for funds elsewhere.
  • Plans for a sign in front of Seager were discovered and will be investigated.
  • The cost of putting something in front of Seager has been found to be too high.
  • Alternative locations for the signage were proposed.
  • One potential alternate location is part of the proposed park in the lot next to the Burger King.
  • No final plans have been made on the addition of a sign.
  • The Meet and Greet with President Hammond will be held Tuesday, Oct. 30.
  • There was a discussion of the leftover money from the Student Advancement Fund for other potential projects.
  • An idea for another project is the possibility of creating student ID perks for off-campus businesses, which would entail bonuses and discounts.
  • Five Guys and Mod Pizza are possibilities, as well as non-food places.

All students are invited to attend SGA meetings to voice their opinions and ideas. Meetings are held every Thursday at noon in Room 210 in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship.
