NCC’s 100th Homecoming Celebration

NCC is hosting its 100th Homecoming within the week of September 19, 2021. The week entails fun events for both students and alumni. It ends with NCC’s Men’s football team facing off against Augustana College at 2 p.m. on August 25.

History

NCC was established in 1861 and is home to nearly 70 different major and minor academic paths in nearly 19 different departments. NCC has been coming together for homecomings for a century now to reflect on their past, present and future.

However, with the uproar of COVID-19, last year’s Homecoming was canceled. The 100th Homecoming commences this year with events for all ages.

Alumni outlook

Homecoming is an event for past and present NCC students to come together and reunite with the college. Kristin Guido, NCC Associate Director of Admission, enjoys Homecoming and revisiting the memories of campus.

“I love that Homecoming brings Cardinal families together – people who you used to see every day but now life has taken you elsewhere, you can pick up right where you left off and have fun together still. Sharing my North Central life and experience with my kids is especially fun,” says Guido.

Homecoming schedule

Weekend Programming Board has events for current students throughout the week of Homecoming. This includes the banner painting, couch-a-thon, a carnival and much more at both Jefferson Lounge and Lawn. Further details will be posted on Weekend Programming Board’s social media accounts.

Alumni Weekend, starting Friday, September 24, kicks off the traditional festivities. This includes reunions, campus tours, award ceremonies and more. All dates and times are available on NCC’s Homecoming website.
