NCC recommends all students, faculty and staff to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Individual’s vaccination status enters a study. Prior to returning back to campus, Illinois mandated higher education personnel to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The total percentages

In an email sent out by Dr. Peter Barger, Co-chair of COVID-19 Institutional Response Team, on September 16, states the rate of vaccines around NCC’s campus.

“To date, 77% of students, 92% of faculty (full-time and part-time), and 90% of staff gave submitted proof of full vaccination,” said Barger.

NCC is still following up with 241 students and 10 faculty members who have not submitted their vaccination status. Likewise, all staff members are currently compliant. Those who have not received their COVID-19 are expected to get tested through MyShield weekly.

Vaccination scholarship opportunity for students

Before move in for the Fall semester, NCC students were required to submit their proof of vaccination. If not vaccinated, students must submit a negative COVID-19 test result. When a student submits proof of vaccination, the school enters them into a raffle for a scholarship. Therefore, 10 students receive a $2,000 scholarship. This is a reward for their compliance with the College’s vaccine expectation.
