Romance movies to watch this Valentine’s Day

1

There are many romance movies out there, and since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, here are some of the greatest romance movies to watch. Coincidentally, three out of the five movies star Meg Ryan, and two star Tom Hanks.

“When Harry Met Sally…” (1989)

In “When Harry Met Sally…” Harry (Billy Crystal) tells Sally (Ryan) that you can’t have friends of the opposite sex, and it doesn’t matter if the man thinks the woman is good-looking. Years later, they meet again and eventually become friends. Is what Harry suggests at the beginning of the movie correct, or can they remain just friends?

“When Harry Met Sally…” remains a popular romance movie. Sometimes, romantic relationships don’t form right away. It takes time, and that is what the movie shows. Not only do Harry and Sally have chemistry in this movie, but the film is also realistic. One of the reasons it’s realistic is because it shows why it takes so long for people to get together or maybe even why they don’t. Not to mention, this movie has some funny scenes. One that is particularly well-known is the diner scene.

“Sleepless in Seattle” (1993)

In “Sleepless in Seattle,” Sam (Hanks) is a father and widower; his young son Jonah (Ross Malinger) wants him to get married. So, Jonah calls a radio show to find his dad a wife. Everyone begins listening to it, and it soon becomes a segment. Women start sending tons of letters to Sam. A woman, Annie (Ryan), listens to this on the radio like everyone else and wants to meet this man. In the meantime, Sam starts dating a woman that his son dislikes.

“Sleepless in Seattle” is another romance movie that remains popular. This movie considers how hard it is to lose a loved one, and it also explores the difficulties of trying to find love. Additionally, many viewers are touched that Jonah only wants happiness for his dad.

“You’ve Got Mail” (1998)

In “You’ve Got Mail,” Joe (Hanks) and Kathleen (Ryan) are pen pals through email. They write to each other and have a lot in common. Kathleen owns a small bookstore, while Joe owns a chain of bookstores. Unfortunately, however, they have never met in person; at least, they don’t think they have. In reality, they have met in person and are not fond of each other. Do they find out they are pen pals? If so, what happens?

“You’ve Got Mail” continues to be a famous romance movie. Nowadays, most people communicate solely through devices. In this movie, Joe and Kathleen communicate with each other on their computers. One might be able to relate to realizing that they should have left a relationship sooner. Anyone watching this movie will see this happen first-hand.

“Mamma Mia!” (2008)

Mamma Mia!” is a musical about a girl named Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), who is getting married soon and wants to know who her father is. The thing is, her mom, Donna (Meryl Streep), isn’t sure who the father is. It could be one of three men: Sam (Pierce Brosnan), Harry (Colin Firth) or Bill (Stellan Skarsgård). So, Sophie invites all three of them to her wedding so she can figure out who her dad is. Her mom doesn’t know about this until all three men arrive. Does Sophie ever find out who her dad is?

“Mamma Mia!” is a popular romance movie that has the cast singing music by ABBA. This movie has an all-star cast, which also includes Christine Baranski. If one likes to travel, this movie has some beautiful scenery.

“The Proposal” (2009)

In “The Proposal,” Margaret (Sandra Bullock) is Andrew’s (Ryan Reynolds) boss, and they do not like each other very much. Margaret is a Canadian citizen and will be sent back to her country unless she gets married. Margaret makes Andrew agree that they are engaged and will get married. Since she is making him do this, Andrew makes Margaret meet his family since it’s his grandma’s (Betty White) birthday. Will Margaret and Andrew ever like each other? Will they be able to get away with their ruse?

“The Proposal” remains a popular romance movie to this day. In January, it was on the list of top movies on Netflix, which ranked number four out of ten. This is over a decade after its original release.

With so many options for romance movies, hopefully, these narrowed them down a bit. These five are a few of the greatest films about love. Viewers can pull from this cache of time-tested films this upcoming Valentine’s Day.

  1. Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a
difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
